Rise Against Hunger appoints new CEO – Brian Nell.

Johannesburg, South Africa – Rise Against Hunger is pleased to announce the appointment of Brian Nell as CEO of the NGO as of March 2019. Brian, a key member of the organisation for the past four years, was made acting CEO late last year. Brian has officially taking the helm, spearheading the team’s vision to create growth and sustainability for this well-established brand as they strive to reach their 2030 vision of ending world hunger.

Spending most of his commendable career in the hospitality industry, Brian has always had a passion for social upliftment, aiding and developing sustainable community projects, some of which are still running today. He joined Rise Against Hunger in 2015 as the Johannesburg Branch Manager, soon taking over the position of National Operations Manager. This position helped lay the foundation for his role as CEO as Brian was able to successfully understand all aspects of the organisation, fully entrenching himself in the culture and business side of the NGO.

Brian has completed the Management Advance Programme at Wits Business School, harnessing his skillset and passion to help take Rise Against Hunger from strength-to-strength, a formidable combination that will no doubt assist him in making his new role a great success.

“I am extremely honoured to have been appointed the role of CEO for Rise Against Hunger this year. I am humbled and excited to be on board with the organisation in this magnitude and I look forward to working alongside our great team to reach our goals and help more South Africans with a basic human need, access to food. Social upliftment, particularly in our beautiful country, is a big passion of mine but can only be achieved with a group of individuals who feel the same sense of urgency in eradicating hunger. We have this team in place and I am excited to build on this unity to achieve a global goal,” concludes Nell.
